Yoga Styles: Embrace A Divine Trio Of Balance
When it comes to the practice of yoga, it’s all about balance and this is offered through a variety of yoga styles. Within every yoga practice there lies a key element that allows you to rediscover your harmony. A yoga retreat like Happy Buddha Retreats provides that exact opportunity.
While attending this yoga retreat, you can tap into one or all 3 unique yoga styles over a blissful 3 day stay. It all depends on where you’re starting from or what you feel will provide you the greatest benefit. And beginners, are always welcome.
The beauty of Happy Buddha’s yoga retreat is that it provides access to all 3 yoga styles but without the expectation or burden of feeling you must partake in all of them. So which 3 yoga styles will you be able to embrace during your 3 day retreat?
Hatha Style (General):
This style of yoga is usually meant as an introduction to yoga, especially for those who are beginners or haven’t practiced in some time. This is the perfect way to ease into the practice of yoga and all its invigorating benefits. Hatha Style is where various yoga postures are held for certain lengths of time and combined with deep breathing exercises. It is this combination of breath and holding postures “in stillness” that allows the student to experience a calming deep stretch in the body all while calming the mind.
Vinyasa Style (Intermediate):
This style of yoga is more based around “getting into flow” meaning that instead of holding various poses for time you gracefully move from one to the next with more energy and a continuous motion. Vinyasa is also the term used to describe a specific sequence of poses (Chaturanga to Upward-Facing Dog to Downward-Facing Dog) commonly used throughout a vinyasa class. However, beginners are quickly able to pick up the sequences within their first session. Both Hatha and Vinyasa styles prepare the mind and body for the more deeper spiritual aspects of yoga like meditation.
Yin Style (Restorative):
The third practice that you’ll discover at Happy Buddha Retreats has to do with restoration and allowing the student to embrace “letting go.” Whether beginner or advanced, Yin Style yoga is for everyone. It is comprised of a variety of passive floor poses that can be held for anywhere from 30 seconds to as long as five minutes. The goal is to release pent up energies and relax into a more peaceful state. Yin Style is always a student favourite at a yoga retreat. This is because every single one of us can benefit from stepping into stillness and allowing ourselves to let go of stress, worry and anxiety.
